Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to the questions we hear almost every day. If yours is not on the list, call us or send an inquiry - we reply fast.

What affects the price of a wooden terrace?

Mostly the surface area, wood species, condition of the base and complexity of the structure. Hidden fasteners, stairs, benches or a pergola add to the price, but also to durability and looks. After a free site visit you get a clear specification, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

How long does a terrace take, from first call to finish?

Smaller terraces are usually done two to three weeks after the quote is confirmed; larger projects with a pergola take four to six weeks. On-site assembly itself typically lasts a few days, because we prepare the elements in our workshop.

Which wood do you recommend for terraces?

For this climate we most often recommend Siberian larch - an excellent balance of durability and cost. Thermo-treated ash is more stable and warmer underfoot, while hardwoods like bangkirai last longest. The choice depends on the position of the terrace, sun exposure and how you use it.

Do I need a building permit for a terrace or pergola?

For most garden terraces and pergolas in Serbia no permit is needed, as they are treated as minor prefabricated structures. Larger canopies or structures attached to the house may require notification of works. At the consultation we tell you exactly what applies to your case.

How is a wooden terrace maintained?

Once a year, wash the terrace and re-oil it - usually one weekend of work. Lazure on pergolas and railings is renewed every two to three years. With every project you get a short guide on what to use and when.

Does wood turn grey over time, and can it be prevented?

Unprotected wood naturally greys in the sun. Regular oiling preserves the warm tone, and pigmented lazures protect it longest. If you like the silvery patina, wood can also age naturally - it just needs to stay structurally protected.

Do you work in winter?

We work all year round. Structural assembly is fine in cold weather, while painting and oiling need dry conditions and temperatures above roughly 10 degrees, so we schedule final coats around the forecast.

Do you give a warranty on your work?

Yes. We give a written warranty on the structure and assembly, and coatings carry the manufacturer warranty with proper maintenance. If anything fails within the warranty period due to our error, we come and fix it at our own cost.

Can you just repaint or restore an existing terrace?

We can - restoring and repainting old terraces is a dedicated service. We first check the structure and replace failing boards, then sand, wash and protect the wood with oil or lazure. Most old terraces can look new again.

Do you work outside Novi Sad?

We primarily work in Novi Sad and the surrounding area - Petrovaradin, Sremska Kamenica, Futog, Veternik, Temerin and nearby places. For larger projects we also travel wider across Vojvodina by arrangement.

What do I need to prepare before your visit?

Nothing special. It is enough to roughly know what you want and how the space is used. Photos and rough measurements help if you have them, but we can take all of that ourselves on site.

How does payment work?

The standard is a deposit when the quote is confirmed, a part on delivery of materials, and the rest after completion and a joint walkthrough. Everything is defined in the quote up front, with no hidden items.

Ready for your new terrace?

Send us a few photos of your space and rough measurements - we come back with a proposal and a free quote.
